Course summary

If you’re a senior vehicle developer passionate about researching and testing the next generation of low- and non-carbon vehicles, then this forward-thinking qualification equips you with the technical knowledge and in-depth training you need. You get to grips with progressive technologies; hone your skills using our state-of-the-art design and simulation tools; and tackle real-world challenges alongside industry partners, graduating with the knowledge and skills to thrive within the fast-paced field of automotive sustainability.

Course accreditation
This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council UK. You graduate with the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
Accreditation by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) is currently in progress.

Facilities and specialist equipment

  • Purpose-built STEM building with high-tech facilities and bespoke study spaces

  • Specialist automotive engineering lab with cutting-edge technology and simulation tools, from advanced automotive engine demonstrators and aerodynamic test rigs to 3D printers and an engine test bed

  • Industry-standard engineering software suites such as AutoCAD; Ansys; MATLAB; ChassisSim; and COMSOL Multiphysics
