Course Modules

This English diploma has two stages, each comprising 120 credits.

As a student of English, this broad foundation will help you develop the skills and the confident, open approach you will need to tackle the more specialist English language, literature and creative writing modules at Stage 2.

At Stage 2, you’ll choose two modules from literature, language and creative writing. In literature, you can either look at whether literature matters or how fiction writers put together their stories. The English language module explores English's history, contemporary usage and position in the world. In the creative writing module, you’ll focus on the creative process, develop your fiction, poetry and life-writing skills, and learn about the publishing process.
