Course summary

This course is designed to equip graduates with an in-depth knowledge of forensic mental health. Students will gain a critical understanding of the academic knowledge associated with the context of practice in forensic mental health and will gain a critical appreciation of ethical, cultural, and legal issues arising from mental health practice and research. The course is aimed at students who are currently employed in / or who desire to be employed in a forensic, forensic mental health, or mental health setting, e.g. prisons; secure hospitals; the Ministry of Justice; the Police Force; and the courts. The course is designed to provide students with a combination of applied and research skills core to work in a forensic mental health setting.
