Join us in tackling pressing societal challenges, from urban regeneration to sustainable development, with the unique opportunity to spend a year abroad. This experience will enable you to shape the future of cities and regions, creating a healthier, fairer, and more sustainable environment.

There is a year of study abroad or placement between Years 2 and 3 for the students doing the Year abroad/Placement versions.

Professionally recognised - The programme is recognised by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) as a 'spatial' accredited qualification, meaning that it provides an employability edge and a first step towards Chartered Membership of this Institute.

Flexibility - As well as providing a varied and rigorous urban planning curriculum, the programme offers students the flexibility to choose from a wide range of Geography modules to shape their own learning journey.

Fieldwork - Field trips are an integral part of the programme. As well as exploring Birmingham, one of the UK's largest and most dynamic cities, you will have the opportunity to attend European field trips in Years 1 and 2.
