Course summary

Our BA (Hons) Business Management with Law programme gives you the chance to build strong skills in the areas of business management and law, preparing you for careers where employers want graduates who can think strategically and understand key legal principles.

You’ll study the essentials of business management alongside the laws that shape modern business practice. By working on real case studies and live projects, you’ll see how legal rules affect business decisions and how smart management drives growth and innovation. This mix of business and law knowledge will help you stand out in the workplace or continue on to postgraduate study.

You will graduate with a unique skill set that blends management expertise with legal understanding. This opens doors to careers in business, law, consultancy and leadership roles where strategic thinking and legal awareness are essential.

Modules

This business and law degree is designed for ambitious students who want to succeed in either field. You will gain strong skills in business management, including data analysis, sustainable innovation, leadership and project management. At the same time, you will explore the legal frameworks and regulations that guide everyday business operations.

Through this dual focus, you’ll develop critical thinking, strategic decision making and applied legal knowledge in a business context. By the time you graduate, you’ll be equipped with the skills, expertise and practical experience needed to launch a rewarding career in business or law, or to progress confidently into postgraduate study.

/ Year 1: Understanding Organisations, Digital and Business Skills, Economics, Business and the Legal Environment, Data Analysis for Business, The Future of Business.

/ Year 2: Commercial Law, Employment Law, Legal Aspects of Business, Project Management, Business Intelligence and Dashboards, Live Project in Business Law.

/Professional Placement Year: On completion of year 2 you will undertake a year's paid professional placement. You will not pay fees to the University and will earn a wage for the work that you do.

/ Year 3: Company Law, Leadership and Management in Business Law, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence and the Law, Business Ethics and Sustainability, Strategic Management.

Assessment method

We use different assessment techniques in different modules and try to ensure all assessments reflect the types of work you will do after graduating. This may include written essays, video presentations, group reports, portfolios and more.
