Studying English is rewarding and enjoyable, and it also prepares you for the future. It enables you to evaluate historical and social processes, and to think through the complexities of our own times.
Our BA English with Study Abroad is designed to help you develop a deep, dynamic understanding of the literary past and present. You'll study texts in English written from medieval times to now, and explore local and global literary traditions.
You'll be taught by world-leading experts, who will introduce you to exciting and challenging approaches, both critical and theoretical. You'll get to choose from a diverse range of options, including interdisciplinary and creative writing units. This allows you to shape your degree to include the things that inspire you the most.
In your final-year dissertation, you'll also be able to work independently on a topic of your own choice.
In our BA English with Study Abroad degree, you'll also spend a year abroad, studying in English at one of our partner universities. Here, you'll have the chance to develop excellent critical and communication skills that will prepare you for a wide range of professions, and develop your global citizenship.
