The Education degree takes a holistic approach to understanding education, preparing students to combine theories and research from psychology, education and sociology to develop the knowledge of how children, and young people learn.
This education degree has been specifically developed to prepare you for a career in the education sector. You will develop knowledge and understanding of the latest child development practices, how children and young people learn as well as develop a understanding of the challenges and innovations in the education sector. You will gain first-hand experience across a variety of school types, and across school ages.
School-based placements and practical experiences are embedded across all three years of study to ensure you will graduate feeling prepared with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to enter the education sector, whether progression onto Initial Teacher Training or as a critical support professional.
Throughout the three years of this Education degree you'll develop knowledge and understanding of the latest child development practices, how children and young people learn as well as develop an understanding of the challenges and innovations across the whole education sector. By studying psychological and sociological needs of our whole society you can help shape the future of education.

Most applicants will be working towards a career in teaching, but the course is also suitable for those who are interested in education in a variety of settings.

This education degree has been specifically developed to prepare graduates for a career in the education sector, whether graduates wish to pursue post-graduate study and become a qualified Teacher, or enter the education profession directly as a Teaching Assistant, Education Leader, Education Administrator or one of the many other education professionals working across schools.
