With our LLM in Law, you’ll discover more about the legal framework governing the international community and the legal issues surrounding global markets.
Open yourself to knowledge in a world where law, information and trade have never been more important. On this course, you'll look beyond national jurisdictions and get to grips with the issues of U.K. and international law. Taught by an experienced team of lawyers and academics you will get an in-depth knowledge of the law alongside practical skills that employers value.
The programme is designed to give all students a firm grounding in UK and international law as well legal, professional and business ethics with a wider understanding of issues such as the cultural, social and environmental considerations that make up the legal framework.
You can also take the option of a yearlong industrial placement, starting after the taught part of the programme, gaining real world work experience and knowledge thought one of our business and industry partners.
You will study one of our endorsed pathways to gain a specialism.
The endorsed pathways are:
Intellectual Property – where you will get an in-depth knowledge of I P rights such as Copyright, Patent and Trade Mark law.
International Commercial Law – Where you will study the framework around the international sale of goods, such as standard shipping contracts financial documents.
Banking and Insurance Law – where you will study U.K. and intranational banking, financial and insurance law and regulation.
As an LLM student, you'll be assessed through coursework, class presentations and a dissertation, to help you acquire a broad range of skills.
Graduates from this course have gone on to work as lawyers, legal professionals, in legal regulation and compliance, management, business and much more.

Graduates of University of Greenwich law degrees have a fantastic opportunity to progress on to the JD programme (Juris Doctor - the American law degree) or LLM programme with our partners at Mitchell Hamline School of Law (MHSL), in Minnesota, USA.
This pioneering agreement between the two universities, means that our graduates can complete their JD programme in only 15 months rather than the full three years.
Mitchell Hamline School of Law is also offering up to 50% scholarships (depending on the student application) to Greenwich graduates.
