HOW YOU WILL LEARN
As well as university-based sessions (lectures, workshops, seminars, tutorials, guest speakers), you’ll spend around 26 weeks on placement in a variety of schools, including a special educational needs setting.
OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPERIENCES
You won’t just visit schools; we run fieldtrips to businesses, religious or multi-faith settings, and attractions too. We’ll also encourage you to take part in community projects and charity events. There may even be the opportunity to visit a school overseas.
CAREERS AND EMPLOYABILITY
The regular placements, combined with our expert mentoring, ensure you leave this primary education degree ready to step straight into the classroom if you want to. Many of our students are offered jobs at their placement schools. Of course, you might want to continue studying on our MA Education.

We encourage you to outline all your qualifications and achievements in your application to provide us a full picture. Your offer will typically be based on your predicted and/or achieved grades from full level 3 qualifications or above e.g. A levels, BTEC Ext Diploma, Access to HE, etc.
Any subject specifics are outlined below in the A-levels section, and these specifics are applicable across all equivalent qualifications.
A strong application/performance and appropriate experience will be taken into account where typical criteria is not met.
GCSE (or equivalent) Maths, English Language and a Science at Grade 4/C or above, (there are currently a range of equivalences which can be accepted. Please contact our Admissions team if you need clarification).
A detailed and satisfactory reference from your School/College or previous employer is required and must be supplied from a professional email address.
All qualifications will need to be certified from the awarding boards. Copies can be accepted but all relevant qualifications will need to verified in person either at interview or at enrolment or a set date that will be confirmed once enrolment has been completed.
Photographic ID is also required and must be verified in person either at interview or enrolment. We can accept Passports/Driving License/Provisional Driving License.
A personal statement is mandatory for these courses and must indicate why you wish to study the course in detail and must be specific to education.
IELTS overall score at a minimum of 7.0; with at least IELTS 6.5 in each band (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing) or another Secure English Language Test(SELT)at CEFR level B2 or above
We have excluded the Grades on Entry data for this course. We may operate some flexibility with entry grades to support widening participation, though most of the students that enrol on this course achieve the published entry tariff or above. Applicants who achieve grades below the published tariff may be offered an alternative course or a 4-year route if there is one available.
