Foundation Year

Our Foundation Year provides an excellent alternative route to Keele, providing a unique opportunity to better prepare for your chosen degree, and with guaranteed entry onto your undergraduate course once you successfully complete your Foundation Year. This extra year of study can improve your academic skills, expand your subject knowledge, give you a better understanding of higher education and, perhaps most importantly of all, build your confidence. On the Keele Foundation Year, you'll study on campus, joining our undergraduate community from the outset, with access to all the facilities and support that you'd get as an undergraduate student at Keele.

For International Students, Foundation Years are delivered through our dedicated on-campus provider, Keele University International College. Applications for International Foundation Years are also handled by KUIC; please do not apply via UCAS as the University will not be able to process your application and you may still be charged the UCAS application fee. Law with Politics

Law with Politics at Keele delves deep into legal essentials and enables you to make sense of society in an ever-changing political world. You will build a foundation of legal education and explore the concepts of power, democracy and governance. Whether you're interested in public law or have a desire to work in the administration of government, our Law with Politics programme is designed to equip you with a grounding in legal principles and an in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of politics and government in the United Kingdom and beyond.

You will build an understanding of the nature of politics, its relevance in contemporary society, challenges to democracy and issues such as polarisation, corruption and anti-politics, from a global perspective. We will help you to prepare for a career in law and related sectors - the transferable skills you will gain on this programme apply to a variety of industries.

You will cover the seven essential areas of legal knowledge: Contract Law, Tort Law, Public Law, Criminal Law, European Law, Land Law, and Equity & Trusts.
