Course summary

Renewable Energy Enterprise and Management (REEM) is a unique multi-disciplinary course blending appropriate project evaluation techniques and business enterprise with awareness of the potential of renewable energy technologies.

This MSc is designed for both practising professionals and graduates in a diverse range of disciplines including:

geography
planning
surveying
business
economics
social policy
politics
product design
industrial management
environmental management
physical or earth science

The course supports those without prior technical education in energy who want to apply management, planning or business skills in expanding renewable energy developments. The main focus is developing your enterprise, culture and capability. We support and require you to be innovative in order to address some of the biggest challenges in the sector, or to seek out opportunities for new products and services.

Sustainability is one of our three key societal themes at Newcastle University. A great advantage of this MSc is that modules and projects are led by staff from across our Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering, enabling you to get involved in, and build on our many strong research teams.

Our renewable energy courses draw on staff and facilities from across the whole Faculty including the Sir Joseph Swan Centre for Energy Research.
