To help prepare you for your future career, our degree has a focus on real-world and simulated real-world applications of topics studied. Simulated learning experiences, using virtual reality, will provide you with a safe environment to develop your confidence and practice and refine your skills.
You'll explore complex ethical and professional dilemmas through case studies based on serious case reviews, as well as develop your critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

Assessments are designed to enable students to evidence excellence in knowledge and skills development. Alongside developing your ability to make sound professional judgements and challenge previously held beliefs.

You will complete a range of engaging formative assessment activities. Examples include quizzes, group work, peer review, presentations, reflection, tutorials, online activities which are designed to generate feedback on performance to improve learning. You will additionally complete a range of summative “written assignments” including; portfolio, case study, reports, reflective accounts, response to peer review, academic essays and appraisal of evidence.

All assessments are relevant to health and social care settings, allowing for authentic assessment and effective feedback to facilitate your success. Each assignment is matched to a specific module and outcome. We encourage self and peer assessment to facilitate critical reflection and to support active learning.
