A maximum of one BTEC/OCR Single Award will be accepted as part of an applicant's portfolio of qualifications with a Distinction* being equated to a grade A at A-level and a Distinction being equated to a grade B at A-level.
A-level General Studies and Critical Thinking are normally excluded from offers. However, the grade achieved may be taken into account when results are published in August and may be used in a tie-break situation.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
Successful completion of a relevant National Extended Diploma (1080 Guided Learning Hours (GLHs) at Level 3) with overall grades DDD. Distinctions will be required in four specified units, including Engineering/Construction Principles and Further Engineering Mathematics/Further Mathematics for Construction. Two other units will be specified at Distinction.
Access to HE Diploma
D: 30 credits
M: 15 creditsSuccessful completion of a relevant Access to HE Diploma with a minimum of 60 credits is required, including 45 credits at Level 3 and 15 credits at Level 2.
Including a minimum of 15 Level 3 credits at Distinction grade in Mathematics and 15 Level 3 credits at Distinction grade in Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Geography/Computer Science/ICT.

H3, H3, H3, H3, H4, H4H3H3 Mathematics + one from a Science subject (see list under A-level requirements) + H3H3H4H4. If English is not offered at Higher Level minimum grade 04 required at Ordinary Level.
Joint Physics and Chemistry Higher Level is acceptable.
GCSE Mathematics at grade C/4 or better.
Scottish National 5 Mathematics at grade C or better.
In all cases where Physics is not offered at A-level or at Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher, applicants must have a minimum of grade C/4 in GCSE Physics/grades CC/44 in Double Award Science (not Applied), or grade C in National 5 Physics.
