If you have a relevant FdA or a similar level 5 qualification, the BA (Hons) Professional and Commercial Dance (top-up) programme is ideal. We'll support you in building core skills in ballet, jazz, contemporary and commercial dance, and the honours-level knowledge and practical experience needed for employment in a variety of exciting and demanding professions in the performing arts industry. You'll study and train in purpose-built, high-specification studios at Shockout's Manchester Studios.
Delivered by Shockout Arts, our intensive final year BA (Hons) Professional and Commercial Dance (top-up) course offers you the opportunity to build on your existing dance-related foundation degree or HND. We'll support you to acquire and develop essential technical, artistic and theoretical competence through professional training to an advanced standard.
Successfully completing this honours-level top-up programme provides the platform for aspiring dance artists to begin their professional careers in the dance and performing arts industry. If you wish to continue your education in the postgraduate sector after graduation, there are opportunities to advance onto the PGCE (M) and MA courses also offered by Shockout Arts.
You'll be based at Shockout Arts, studying and training in their purpose-built, high-specification dance studios that are equal to professional industry standards. Alongside your intensive practical dance training, you'll have regular performance opportunities to help you develop a diverse range of performance and production skills.
The teaching staff at Shockout Arts are professional and world-renowned practitioners and choreographers. They are keen to make your time with them as stimulating and rewarding as possible and enjoy a well-deserved reputation for being approachable and interested in your progress. As teaching often takes place in small groups, you can access individual support and guidance at every stage.

Normally, you should possess a relevant level HE5 qualification, such as a foundation degree or HND; for example, FdA Professional and Commercial Dance. Alternatively, you may have a relevant professional qualification at an equivalent level.
If you don't have the above qualifications but possess equivalent qualifications or experience, we'll be happy to consider your application.
