Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) (FE and Skills Sector)

The Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) (Post-compulsory) at Nescot is a one-year full-time course leading to a recognised level 6 teaching qualification, validated by the University of Greenwich.

The PGCE requires 100 hours of mandatory teaching practice during the period of training. Nescot will help to provide teaching practice placement for full time applicants. Placement places are limited and distributed on a first-come first-served basis.

Students on a NESCOT higher education course are typically taught in class sizes of 16 or fewer.

Assessment
The course includes both formative and summative assessments and practice is assessed by lesson observations. All modules are assessed via coursework and aim to facilitate professional development. The qualification is awarded with a pass, merit or distinction classification.
