Course summary

Running your own business can be challenging and rewarding. It requires a strong sense of entrepreneurship, determination and the ability to handle managerial responsibilities.

Our Business Management and Leadership Higher National Certificate (HNC) course is designed to help you develop key skills, from managing people, projects and resources to strategic leadership within the UK and internationally.

The Business Management and Leadership HNC focuses on contemporary management issues, giving you the opportunity to develop a wealth of skills needed to aid progression from an operational level through to a leadership role within any organisation.

Upon graduation, you should be able to demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the theoretical, analytical and practical aspects of management strategies and processes within a changing environment to meet stakeholder interests. This should prepare you to work within small and large companies around the world.

This HNC follows the curriculum for Year 1 of the Business Management and Leadership (Hons) degree course. The HNC focuses on the organisational environment and decision-making processes at junior management level. You’ll cover a broad range of topics from core concepts of current management and organisational behaviour to the fundamentals of business policy, marketing and strategy.
