Course summary

Join a new generation of engineers and build the systems that power tomorrow. Create smart, sustainable technologies and graduate ready for the modern world.

Do things differently
The world needs a new kind of engineer – one who thinks bigger, listens harder, and designs smarter to make a real impact. On this accredited BEng (Hons) Electronic & Electrical Engineering degree, you’ll learn how to create intelligent, sustainable solutions for a connected global future.

You'll design, test, and refine the technologies that power modern life – working with the electronics and systems behind everything from energy networks to smart infrastructure. The course challenges you to question how things work, explore new ideas, and apply your creativity to solve real-world problems.

As part of this course, you’ll:

  • Work on practical engineering challenges using specialist facilities, building the technical confidence to turn ideas into working solutions

  • Design and build sustainable solutions using electronic, embedded, and control systems

  • Collaborate across disciplines, working with engineers in computing, robotics, AI, data analysis, civil, and building services engineering

  • Complete a major project each year, solving real problems through hands-on design, testing, and development

  • Apply your learning in the workplace through an optional placement year, building industry experience and professional networks

You’ll graduate as part of the next generation of engineers – confident, adaptable, and ready to tackle the challenges shaping society.
