Are you interested in learning how to perform advanced cosmetic aesthetic procedures? Are you looking to enhance your practice within the non-medical aesthetic sector as a practising aesthetician? This Foundation Degree has been developed with employers including SK:N, Laser Clinics UK, Myobody Aesthetics and Transform to ensure it reflects what skills are required to be employed within the non-medical aesthetics industry. You will study the theory behind aesthetic procedures and gain an understanding of why they are carried out in the way that they are to shape your clinical practice. You will cover topics such as laser and pulsed light for hair removal and skin rejuvenation, micro needling for collagen synthesis, scarring and pigmentation and superficial chemical peels for a range of skin concerns. As part of our work ready guarantee, you will enhance your practice as an aspiring aesthetician to support your transition into the world of work. Additional training to support your development will be utilised such as Core of Knowledge Laser Safety training. In addition to this, you will have access to industry standard equipment such as Lynton Lasers, DermaQuest and Energist. This programme is suitable for those who hold a Level 3 in Beauty Therapy with the inclusion of facial and body electrotherapy. It is designed for those who wish to pursue a career within the aesthetic industry. This course is also suitable for professionals who have been within industry for a number of years and are wishing to upskill or gain a higher qualification to support career development. After completion of this programme, you will be eligible to apply for the BA Hons Advanced Skin Techniques (Top-up) programme to further enhance your knowledge. You are also eligible to apply for the BA Hons Business (Top-up) if a business orientated route is preferred. Upon completion of this programme, you will be eligible to gain work within the non-medical aesthetic industry. This may be through employment or self-employment and generally includes the following job roles: • Aesthetician • Senior Aesthetician • Patient Co-ordinator • Clinic Manager
