If you’re passionate about inspiring young minds and shaping the future, our three-year Primary Education degree at Lincoln Bishop University is your gateway to a rewarding career as a primary school teacher. This vocational honours course leads directly to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), blending academic study with hands-on experience to prepare you for the classroom from day one.
You’ll dive into the theory and practice of primary education, exploring what it means to teach, how children learn, and how you can make a real difference. From the start, you’ll spend meaningful time in schools, first working with small groups and then gradually taking on full classes, always with the support and encouragement of experienced mentors. As you progress, your school placements become longer and more personalised, giving you the confidence and skills to lead your own classroom.
Our course is built around the Initial Teacher Training Core Content Framework, ensuring you’re ready for every challenge and opportunity in your placements and future career. You’ll study modules covering pedagogy, curriculum knowledge, assessment, behaviour management, inclusion, professional behaviours, wellbeing, and educational research, everything you need to become a reflective, effective, and inspiring teacher.
By the time you graduate, you’ll not only have your degree and recommendation for QTS, but also the practical experience, confidence, and vision to help every child reach their potential. If you’re ready to make a difference, this is where your journey begins.
Assessment in our Primary Education course is designed to celebrate your individuality and support your growth as a future teacher. You’ll experience a mix of approaches, including presentations, essays, assessed tutorials, group discussions, and a research report. Each assessment is carefully chosen to help you practise essential teaching skills, connect theory to real-world practice, and showcase your progress towards Qualified Teacher Status.
Throughout your journey, you’ll have opportunities to reflect on your development, receive supportive feedback, and build the confidence you need to thrive in the classroom.
