The BA Fashion Marketing with Management is a three-year, full-time course at our Winchester School of Art. You can also apply to add a year abroad or year in industry, extending your degree to four years. This course offers the option of certified accreditation with The Institute of Data and Marketing (IDM) is a member of the United Kingdom Fashion and Textiles (UKFT) and the British Fashion Council (BFC) . Throughout this course you'll explore the breadth of the discipline, with the flexibility to tailor your degree to your interests and ambitions.
Year 1: Fundamental Skills, Introduction to core concepts, tools, and methods in fashion marketing, branding, and management, Student as learner and explorer.
Year 2: Exploratory Skills, Application of knowledge to real-world contexts, with an emphasis on critical thinking and strategic insight, Student as emerging creative practitioner and analyst.
Year 3: Autonomous & Professional Skills, Independent, self-directed work that demonstrates mastery, innovation, and readiness for industry or further study, Independent professional and critical thinker.
You will also have opportunities to tailor your learning through student-selected year in employment or year abroad. Module structure may vary to keep your learning up to date with industry advances.

You’ll learn through a mix of lectures, seminars, individual and group tutorials, workshops and private study. You’ll gain practical digital and fashion styling skills, and experience of writing strategic reports and business plans, alongside your contextual and theoretical knowledge. The curriculum also includes guest lectures, live briefs and optional study visits to leading fashion brands in the UK and overseas.
Alongside your subject-specific knowledge, you’ll develop superb research, critical analysis, team working and communication skills that will prove invaluable as your career progresses.
You’ll be assessed on your coursework, which may take the form of written work with supporting visual portfolios, essays, marketing plans, illustrated business reports, creative formats such as film, image and editorial, and your final project.

We welcome applicants with other qualifications eg. European Baccalaureate. You will be expected to attain an A level equivalent standard.
The University of Southampton requires all applicants to achieve at least a Grade 4 in English and Mathematics GCSEs (taken in England) or a Grade C in both subjects (where taken in Northern Ireland or Wales). Some degree subjects stipulate specific additional GCSE minimum grades, which will be specified as part of the individual degree programme entry requirements.
