The ability to analyse complex data and make informed decisions is in high demand across a wide range of industries.

On our Mathematics and Statistics BSc, you'll explore statistical approaches and techniques so you can advance innovation and solve real-world problems.

You'll combine core mathematics with an in-depth focus on:
probability
data analysis
statistical modelling

You'll graduate with confidence to interpret data, make predictions and assess risks.

Study the fundamental principles of mathematics and statistics. You’ll learn to analyse data, solve problems, and make informed decisions in various fields.

All our mathematics and statistics degrees focus on three core areas:
pure mathematics
applied mathematics
statistics

You’ll have the flexibility to choose the area you’d like to focus on, or even transfer between our mathematics and statistics degrees.

You can also choose optional modules linked to our research areas. Our staff are experts in their field. They’ll guide you through the latest developments in the discipline, such as:
advanced hydrodynamics
quantum mechanics
Bayesian inference

We welcome applications from students offering an Extended Project and value the skills of research and independent learning that it is designed to develop. If you offer an Extended Project, it will be taken into account as part of your application profile, but we will not usually include it in offer conditions for this degree programme.
