This course is taught from our CU Coventry and CU Dagenham location.
Build the skills to design, deploy and manage cloud systems.
Cloud computing sits behind many of the digital services people use every day, from apps, online shopping and streaming to data storage, automation and AI-enabled tools. As organisations move more of their systems and services into cloud environments, they need people who understand how to build, connect, secure and manage cloud-based technology.
This course is designed to help you develop the practical and professional skills to work with modern cloud systems. You’ll build foundations in software, databases, networking and infrastructure before exploring more specialised areas such as deployment, cloud-native application development, security, automation, DevOps, AI and machine learning.
Through practical tasks and project-based work, you’ll have opportunities to design, test and evaluate cloud-focused solutions. You’ll also develop skills in problem-solving, communication, project management and service management, helping you prepare for possible future routes in cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, software development, cloud support and related technology roles.
Develop practical cloud computing skills
Build knowledge of cloud infrastructure, software, databases, networking, security, automation, AI and machine learning, with opportunities to apply technical concepts through practical tasks.
Learn how cloud systems are designed and deployed
Explore virtualisation, server operating systems, hybrid infrastructure, containerisation, cloud networking and scalable architecture.
Build cloud-native application development knowledge
Study how applications can be designed, built, tested and deployed in cloud environments using concepts such as APIs, microservices, containers and platform services.
Explore DevOps and cloud automation
Develop understanding of automated deployment, continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, monitoring and operational improvement.
Study a course informed by industry engagement
The course has been developed with industry engagement, including Amazon Web Services Public Sector UK, to help align learning with current cloud technologies, practices and sector needs.
Create a digital portfolio of your work
You’ll develop a digital portfolio, helping you to showcase projects, technical skills and development over time.
Study one module at a time
Focus on one 30-credit module over a six-week block. This approach uses practical, exam-free assessments to build your knowledge step by step with regular feedback.
This course is also offered as a degree with foundation year, and includes a sandwich (placement year) option. For the most update to date course details, please visit our website.
