Our integrated masters in Biomedical Science offers an advanced, research‑focused route designed to take you further than a standard undergraduate degree. You’ll gain a deeper scientific understanding of how the human body functions, alongside insight into the biological mechanisms that underpin a wide range of health conditions and their investigation. What sets this course apart is the combination of specialist laboratory training, research‑active teaching and a final‑year master’s‑level project that gives you substantial experience of real scientific inquiry.
You’ll build a strong foundation in biomedical science before progressing to advanced topics such as cell and molecular biology, physiology, immunology, microbiology and diagnostic techniques. Throughout the course, you’ll develop high‑level practical skills using industry‑standard equipment, preparing you for professional laboratory environments.
In your final year, you’ll undertake a major independent research project in an area of your choice, working alongside active researchers and gaining the depth of experience that makes this degree stand out to employers.

GCSE grade C/4 or above in English Language or Pass in Level 2 Functional Skills English
and
GCSE grade C/4 or above in Mathematics or Pass in Level 2 Functional Skills Mathematics

The standard UK and Channel Islands full-time fee will be £10,050 in academic year 2027/28, subject to parliamentary approval.
