This 100% online course is designed for qualified psychologists seeking continuing professional development (CPD) or those aiming to meet the ‘knowledge’ component for entry onto the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN).

The course is subject to approval by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
The PGDip is ideal for professionally-registered clinical counselling psychologists who wish to improve their practice-based knowledge and competency relating to clinical work with clients (or patients) with long-term neurological conditions and/or acquired brain injuries in any setting, in the community, in clinics, neurorehabilitation units, or acute hospitals.
This course is particularly appropriate for those who are interested in joining the SRCN as once the course has been BPS-accredited it will count towards the ‘knowledge’ component of the British Psychological Society (BPS), Division of Neuropsychology, Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN).
Those who qualify can continue onto further study on the Salomons Institute PGCert Clinical Neuropsychology Practice, thereby completing the route to the SRCN.
If the SRCN isn't your aim however, you can still join the PGDip or you may be interested in the Salomons Institute’s online CPD offerings in clinical neuropsychology.
This course offers Continued Professional Development. CPD courses allow you to develop your skills and knowledge relevant to your career path.
Applicants should:
Be HCPC registered (or equivalent) Practitioner Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (you will need to provide a HCPC registration number and doctoral level training equivalent education with postgraduate teaching, practicum and thesis).
Be a member, or have eligibility for full membership, with British Psychological Society (BPS) division (i.e., DCP or DCoP) or equivalent
Be employed (part-time or full-time) in a service that provides assessment and/or intervention for individuals with neurological conditions, brain injuries, or conditions with neuropsychological presentation in which clinical neuropsychology represents a component of the service.
Have access (and likelihood of permission and client consent) to cases that can be written up for assessment of your clinical competence, for educational purposes, toward completion of the PGDip award
Have a minimum of one-year post-qualification / HCPC-registered experience in the/a clinical neuropsychology service
Demonstrate how to work effectively in teams, taking a compassionate and client-centred approach, and have capacity for reflective practice – you will have the opportunity to showcase these skills in the interview with our course directors.
If English is not your first language you require an IELTS overall score of 7.0 with no element below 6.5 for HCPC registration and this postgraduate course.
