Course summary

This course will help you to excel within the dynamic
fields of sports coaching, sports development, and
fitness sectors. You will build a strong understanding
of the physiological theory of sport and fitness, as
well as physical activity in the local community,
media, business and marketing, sport coaching
and leadership theories and various other topics.
You will also develop your analytical and research
techniques. The course will also give the opportunity
to reflect on your new skills and knowledge, bridging
theory to practice. The course also embeds the
knowledge and expertise required to complete
sports coaching and fitness qualifications,
namely Level 1 and 2 Sports Coaching and Level
1 and 2 Fitness Instruction. You are then able to
complete the external examinations to obtain these
qualifications.

You must have achieved 48 UCAS tariff
points. The points can be from a range of L3
qualifications (NVQ L3, BTEC L3 or A Level).
• Alternatively, you may possess a vocational
equivalent qualification (Level 3), such as VTCT,
CYQ or Active IQ.
• You must also have Maths and English GCSE at
minimum C grade (or equivalent)
• Applicants with industry/professional
experience will also be considered on
an individual basis. All applicants will be
interviewed.
