Not only will you get a head start to achieving Chartered Accountant status with relevant, global accrediting bodies - ACCA, ICAEW and CIMA, but you will also study a broad range of topics from Management Accounting and Financial Accounting to Corporate Finance.
The BSc Accounting and Finance with a Year in Industry degree at Swansea is designed to ensure you are taught the most relevant, cutting-edge topics, which will make you stand out from other candidates in the job market.
You will gain the conceptual, technical, and practical skills needed to thrive in today’s world of accounting and finance; and will have the opportunity to complete modules designed to guide you through the entire process of setting up a computerised accounting system, learn about data analysis, and understand the role of Accounting and Finance for sustainability. These invaluable practical skills, paired with sector expertise, will give you a serious edge when you graduate from Swansea University.
The third year of this 4-year course with a Year in Industry will be spent on placement. You will have the opportunity to gain real-world industry experience and develop your employability skill set. We have a strong network of industry contacts, and you will receive dedicated support from our in-house employability team, ranging from CV advice through to mock interviews.
