Course summary

This is an industry-guided course that aims to produce skilled engineering professionals who can actively participate in and manage the executive design and development of automation systems. Automation Engineering at Lincoln has been designed in collaboration with global industrial giants, such as B&R Automation and Schneider Electric.

The course aims to give students the chance to design or manage systems produced through a combination of skills from the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering. This flexibility helps to promote a large variety of possible applications, helping students to learn how to manage the demands of the continuous evolution of technology as well as the job market.

    Hi I’m Ellie and I’m a Second Year Pharmacy student. I will be at Lincoln for 3 more years and plan on becoming a pharmacist when I graduate. I did A Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and EPQ and I am very familiar with the clearing process due to my A levels not going as expected so feel free to ask questions around this subject too! Clearing felt very daunting at first when things didn’t go as planned on results day, but the process was actually really easy and ended up finding the university that’s best for me. I took a gap year before starting university in which I worked and travelled, whilst deciding what I wanted my future to look like! After university, I want to either train to be an accountant, or a teacher, possibly in maths, business or my degree area. I joined the University of Lincoln's Athletics society in September 2024, which has allowed me to make new friends, and take part in many social and competitive events. I ran my first 10k race in April 2025 with fellow society members! I live at home and commuted to campus during my first year. I either walked, drove or got the bus to university.

    Hi, I'm Chloe a current second year student at the University of Lincoln, studying Technical theatre and stage management. I am also a cheerleader, having competed all across the UK and abroad in Florida and Amsterdam. I am part of the cheerleading society, on Red Arrows, one of the competitive teams. I love all things theatre, especially musicals and hope to be working on the West-End some day!
