Course summary

The Technology and Design subject specialism of the Bachelor of Education degree course has received outstanding reviews from its graduating students. Graduates from the Technology and Design specialism are in high demand* not only in Northern Ireland, but internationally. The course you will follow is research-informed by leading specialists to train Technology and Design teachers at the front edge of educational thinking. The Technology and Design subject area is excellently equipped to replicate the school teaching environment, and specific modules covered include CAD/CAM, manufacturing, systems, product design and academic research, along with intensive ‘microteaching’ techniques to prepare you for the realities of classroom teaching. As well as specialising in Technology and Design, you will have the option to develop either Computer Studies, English, Mathematics, Physical Education, or Religious Education as an additional teaching subject.
