Course summary

The BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching (including Foundation Year) is a four-year degree.

You’ll gain the applied knowledge and skills to become a sports coach and effectively train athletes and teams across levels and sports.

If you don’t yet meet the entry requirements for the three-year version, starting the course with a Foundation Year gives you a supported step up to university study.

WHY THIS COURSE

The BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching (including Foundation Year) prepares you for a career in sport coaching by integrating world-leading research from various disciplines with practical application.

You’ll spend Year Zero on the Sport and Exercise Science Pathway, gaining and introduction to anatomy and physiology, as well as mathematics and statistics for sport.

You’ll learn through valuable connections with National Governing Bodies, including the Football Association, Volleyball England, Basketball England and Rugby Football Union, which offer you real-world experience, access to coach education courses, and the opportunity to gain National Governing Body awards.

You’ll graduate on the path to a sports coach or personal trainer career.

GCSE Maths and Science C/4 is also required.
Offers will be made from a minimum of the equivalent of 2 full A-levels. We accept A Levels, BTECs, Access to HE Diploma, International Baccalaureate, T Levels, AAQs and most other qualifications within the UCAS Tariff. Whilst International A-levels and BTECs aren't on the tariff calculator, we assign them the same tariff points as their UK counterparts
