Popular Music Performance is a practical, future-focused course for musicians who want to develop their live performance skills and become confident, adaptable performers. You’ll receive dedicated one-to-one tuition, ensemble coaching and specialist mentoring while exploring the full breadth of popular music practice — from songwriting and arranging to studio recording, composition and artist development. Creativity, collaboration and performance sit at the heart of the course, helping you grow as a versatile and expressive musician.

You’ll learn through hands-on workshops, masterclasses and project-based activities, supported by a teaching team with wide professional experience across performance, technology, songwriting and the wider music industry. Working closely with engineers, songwriters, session performers and theatre practitioners, you’ll gain real-world experience that mirrors contemporary industry practice and builds your confidence on stage and in the studio.

Outstanding facilities support every aspect of your development, including professional-standard concert halls, rehearsal spaces, practice rooms, ensemble studios, world-class recording facilities and an extensive instrument collection. With generous open access outside teaching hours, you’ll have the freedom to rehearse, refine your craft and collaborate whenever inspiration strikes.
