This course at University Centre Doncaster will give you practical experience with cost management by mastering the skills of measurement and estimating that are essential for the quantity surveyor and estimator. All teaching staff having extensive industrial experience, are highly qualified and enthusiastic professionals.
Upon completion of your HNC in Quantity Surveying you will have developed a sound understanding of quantity surveying techniques along with other disciplines ensuring you will be ready to take the next step forward into cost management and control of construction projects, or take further qualifications to better your knowledge and understanding of the industry.
This course is particularly relevant to people already working in or looking to develop a career within it. Further the course provides a range of skills relevant across a variety of different professions. People who have completed this course have gone on to work in areas of construction cost management including:
• Quantity Surveyor
• Procurement Manager
• Estimator
If you wish to continue studying beyond this course, it will provide you with a strong academic basis to do so. Course progression routes may include The HNC course is designed to provide progression onto a BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) top-up or a higher apprenticeship top-up. This will also then offer a route to study a top-up degree in quantity surveying or a related discipline as well as progression to professional body membership.
