However, if, when you’ve completed the Foundation degree, you decide that you want to take up an employment opportunity, you can finish your studies and leave with an academic qualification which is well recognised across the sector.

Our FdSc Applied Sports Conditioning and Exercise provides you with an ideal opportunity to develop the knowledge you need to become a sports and fitness practitioner, underpinning your practical skills with theoretical understanding. You will learn about the scientific basis for sports training, including an understanding of nutrition, human anatomy and psychology, and develop a flexible approach so that you can use appropriate skills in a variety of familiar and unfamiliar contexts. You’ll develop a reflective approach that enables creative problem-solving and innovation in your applied practice.

You will gain a detailed understanding of principles and practices related to sports conditioning, training and exercise, and how these can be applied. You’ll learn to analyse the effectiveness of approaches to sports conditioning, training, the prevention of injury, rehabilitation, and how to adapt training principles appropriately. You will develop a range of transferrable skills, enhancing your employability across the sports conditioning, training, health and wellbeing sectors.

Your confidence will grow as you progress through the course and build your skills and understanding.
