Course summary

The course is for all advanced practitioner AHPs (Physiotherapists, Podiatrists and Therapeutic Radiographers) who have a minimum of three years’ experience in their area of intended prescribing and who are registered with the HCPC.

The Independent prescribing programme provides opportunities to develop and demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skills in prescribing practice through independent reasoned thought, systematic enquiry, reflection and evaluation.

Module: AHP independent prescribing.

Entry requirements

You will need a degree within a relevant area and have at least three years experience in practice, with at least one year’s full-time relevant experience immediately prior to your application in the area of your intended prescribing practice.

You also need a medical Doctor who is willing to support and assess you in supervised practice. Current Disclosure and Barring Service clearance by your employer is also necessary.
