Course summary
Build your knowledge of how the human body works and functions, get to understand things on a deeper level and investigate questions such as ‘How are diseases caused?’ and ‘What tools can we use to understand symptoms?’
Our Biomedical Science (with Foundation Year) starts with progressing your academic skills. Passing this foundation year leads to our Biomedical Science course, where you’ll gain the skills employers look for. These include lab techniques, data handling, computing, report writing, oral presentations, and teamwork. With accreditation from the Institute for Biomedical Science (IBMS), you can be confident that you’ll benefit from highly rated teaching that with completion of an IBMS Registration Training Portfolio will allow you to join the NHS Biomedical Scientist profession.

If you choose the placement option, you can spend your third year on a work placement. During your placement there is a fee which is paid to the university. It covers the cost of your placement tutor, and the support we provide whilst looking for a placement position and during your placement role.
The module fee listed is applicable for part time study.
