Why an Integrated Foundation Stage?
An Integrated Foundation Stage is a year at the start of your degree that develops the skills needed to progress to a full honours degree. Alongside an introduction to Crime and Criminal Investigation, you’ll build study skills, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills to build confidence and prepare for your course.

Why Crime and Criminal Investigation?
Are you interested in a career preventing and detecting crime? Do you want skills to carry out investigations, support victims and solve crime in law enforcement, public organisations or private business?

Our degree combines theory, policy and practice across policing, criminology and criminal justice, focusing on the investigative process. You will develop understanding of the Criminal Justice System and the role of investigators, while exploring current challenges.

Academics with policing experience will guide you through identifying and securing evidence, interviewing techniques and victim support, and their relevance to policing and investigation work.

You will engage with case studies and practical scenarios, examining historical, empirical and theoretical perspectives on evidence gathering and criminal justice.

By the end of the programme, with our support, you will be a confident graduate with the investigative mindset needed for a career in policing or investigation.
