This HND is also part of a route towards your degree, which follows this pathway:

Year 1: Higher National Certificate (HNC)
Year 2: Higher National Diploma (HND)
Year 3: BA (Top Up Degree)

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

The HND in Hospitality Management offers specialist pathways designed to support progression into relevant occupational areas or on to degree-level study.

You will develop a broad knowledge and awareness of key aspects of hospitality through two core units.

The units are:

  • Research project (Pearson set)

  • Hospitality interpersonal skills

You will also study four further optional units:

  • Menu development, planning and design

  • Managing and Planning an Event

  • Diet and nutrition

  • Managing and running as small business

Assessment method

You will be assessed through a variety of assignments and activities, with a focus on the holistic development of practical, interpersonal, and higher-level thinking skills.

The assessment criteria for each unit connects the unit’s learning outcomes with your work. Your assignment may be graded at ‘Pass’, ‘Merit,’ or ‘Distinction’ level, depending on the quality of your work.
