Summary
Business is about more than managing organisations. It is about understanding change, challenging ideas and creating impact. At Southampton, you will explore how businesses operate within wider economic and social contexts, and how you can play a role in shaping them.

This flexible Business Management degree prepares you for a wide range of careers, from start-ups and global corporations to social enterprises and not-for-profit organisations. Drawing on insights from economics, history and the social sciences, you will develop a broader perspective and learn to think differently about business.

You will explore how organisations adapt, innovate and respond to challenges, while building the confidence to lead and inspire change in different environments.

Offers typically exclude Social Care/Healthcare pathways.

Scottish Higher

We normally consider applicants who offer at least 1 Advanced Higher. Applicants presenting with only Highers will be considered on a case by case basis. Where Highers are taken over two years it might be expected that higher grades are achieved, particularly in any specific subjects required. For example, S5 – S6 (2 years): AABBB (A in specific subject) or S6 (1 year): ABBBB (A in specific subject).

Unless a more advanced level (Higher or Advanced Higher) is specified in the stated entry requirements, all applicants will be required to have achieved a pass in Mathematics and English at Standard Grade, Grade 3 or National 5, Grade C, the equivalent of GCSE Grade C/ Grade 4"

The University of Southampton values the Extended Project Qualification. If you are taking an EPQ in addition to 3 A levels, you will receive the following offer in addition to the standard A-level offer: ABB plus grade A in the EPQ.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)

All applicants would be required to have achieved a grade of O4 in Mathematics and English, the equivalent of GCSE Grade C/ Grade 4.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal

D3, D3, M2 in three Principal subjects

Cambridge Pre-U's can be used in combination with other qualifications such as A Levels to achieve the equivalent of the typical offer.

GCSE/National 4/National 5

Applicants must hold GCSE English language (or GCSE English) (minimum grade 4/C) and mathematics (minimum grade 6*/B).

  • Grade 5 in mathematics (in the new reformed GCSE's) can be accepted if an applicant has grade B in A levels Maths, Physics, Economics, Geography, Psychology or Business.

Please note we cannot accept a grade 5 in mathematics if you are studying other qualifications, the requirement is a grade 6.

OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma

If you are studying an OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma in Business then this is accepted and we strongly suggest you contact us before applying if you are studying a different subject.

OCR Cambridge Technical Diploma

OCR Cambridge Technical Diploma in Business is accepted if combined with one suitable A level with grade A. If your OCR is not in Business, we strongly suggest you contact us before applying.

OCR Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma
D

OCR Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma in Business is accepted if combined with two suitable A levels with grade A's.

OCR Cambridge Technical Certificate

AQA Level 3 Technical Level (720 glh)

We welcome applicants with other qualifications eg. European Baccalaureate. You will be expected to attain an equivalent standard to the A level applicant.
