Year 1 of this course is HNC Horticulture
You will study the following modules across both semesters:
Advanced plant biology (3 credits)
Applied horticultural research (3 credits)
Botanical and historic garden horticulture (3 credits)
Ecological and conservation garden horticulture (2 credits)
Horticulture: professional practice (3 credits)
Horticulture: sustainability and innovation (1 credit)

Course optionsIf you live outside of the Argyll and Bute or Inverness areas and wish to study remotely, please use the Argyll apply link. You will attend residential field trips on-campus at Argyll, all other study can be done from your home location.
You will undertake four mandatory 3-day residential field trips to complete your practical work
You will also undertake a placement in a horticultural establishment of your choice, with guidance and support from your lecturers. There is flexibility in the duration of this placement

Our programmes are taught and examined in English. To make the most of your studies, you must be able to communicate fluently and accurately in spoken and written English in an academic environment and provide certified proof of your competence before starting your course.
