Our Foundation Year provides an excellent alternative route to Keele, providing a unique opportunity to better prepare for your chosen degree, and with guaranteed entry onto your undergraduate course once you successfully complete your Foundation Year. This extra year of study can improve your academic skills, expand your subject knowledge, give you a better understanding of higher education and, perhaps most importantly of all, build your confidence. On the Keele Foundation Year, you'll study on campus, joining our undergraduate community from the outset, with access to all the facilities and support that you'd get as an undergraduate student at Keele.

Applications for International Foundation Years are also handled by KUIC; please do not apply via UCAS as the University will not be able to process your application and you may still be charged the UCAS application fee. Our four-year Human and Physical Geography with Integrated Master's bridges the natural and social world, taking your understanding of both to master's level. Through advanced training in fieldwork, laboratory techniques and data analysis, you'll develop advanced independent research skills across multiple fields, preparing you for specialist careers or progression to doctoral study.

Our Human and Physical Geography MSci offers an advanced understanding of the Earth's landscapes, environments, and the relationship between people and the natural world. By combining both branches of the discipline to master's level, you will develop the broad, connected perspective that employers and research institutions increasingly value in geography graduates.

The course covers a wide range of topics, such as climate change, Earth's landscapes and landforms, glaciers, rivers, coasts, sustainable development, planning, and health inequalities. A prominent theme of environmental geography runs throughout, connecting these topics through a shared focus on sustainability and environmental justice. Blending theoretical knowledge with practical skills, you will explore diverse research methods, master Geographic Information Systems (computer systems that produce connected visualisations of geospatial data), and put your learning into practice through fieldwork on and off our 600-acre campus.
