Explore Geophysics at a global top 100* university.
On this one-year MSc, you'll have a unique opportunity to explore energy transition and sustainability through a practical, multi-disciplinary lens utilising expertise of geophysics, geology, and geotechnics. Through assessments that mirror the workplace, you’ll graduate primed to start your career with the much-valued transferable skills required for work in this industry.
You'll study at our Waterfront Campus, the National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS), one of the world's largest centres for marine education and research, where you'll have access to our research vessel, the R.V. Callista, cutting-edge technology and facilities that will help you to develop and broaden your skills and knowledge.
This new degree is suitable for students from a STEM background with limited or no experience of geophysics. It is also suitable for students with a geoscience or geophysics background, but limited or no experience in practical application.

2:1 or equivalent in one of these subjects: Physical Sciences, Maths, Engineering, Earth Sciences, Chemistry. Others may be considered on a case by case basis. You must have undertaken some Maths within your degree or hold A level Maths (or equivalent).
