This course is for anyone interested in a career in mechanical engineering with a responsibility for the design, installation, commissioning and operation of engineering services. The qualification opens up career opportunities in consulting, contracting and manufacturing in both public and private sector.
Students can also progress onto the BEng or the MEng at University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Year one modules:
•mathematics
•materials and introduction to manufacturing technology
•engineering science one
•engineering applications and study skills
•engineering science two
•engineering design
Year two modules:
•group project
•fault diagnosis and condition monitoring
•engineering mechanical principles
•management, innovation and sustainability
•manufacturing, design and technology
•thermofluid mechanics
Assessment is by assignment and examination.
The following entry points are available for this course:
Pass
EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma - Pass
GCSE at grade C or above in Mathematics and a Science subject.
Please note, If you do not have a grade C in GCSE Mathematics or equivalent then you can still apply but you may be asked to complete a Maths Assessment.
