Course summary

Not everyone can make it to our London or LA campuses to learn music production with Point Blank, so we have created a method of online learning for which we recently won a prestigious Webby Award. The CertHE in Music Production and Sound Engineering is your chance to benefit from the practical music industry expertise and innovative teaching methods that Point Blank is known for whilst also gaining an internationally recognised Higher Education qualification awarded by Middlesex University. This programme is full time distance learning, delivered by our expert instructors on our bespoke Virtual Learning Environment.

pointblank is applying for UK Degree Awarding Powers. If approved, either before your course start date or after you have enrolled, your qualification will be awarded directly by pointblank rather than Middlesex University, with no change to its level or value.

A level - CC

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - MPP

Access to HE Diploma

Applicants with the Access to HE Diploma should normally have had a break from full-time education before undertaking the Access course. Successful completion of this course requires students to gain 60 credits, with 45 credits at Level 3 and 15 credits at Level 2.

Scottish Higher

These are acceptable both on their own and in combination with other qualifications. You will require a minimum of two Advanced Highers or three Highers and a maximum of 5 Scottish higher qualifications.

T Level - Pass (D or E)

IELTS (Academic)6A minimum 5.5 is required in each area (Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing)
All applicants must be able to demonstrate English language at CEFR level B2, equivalent to grade C / 4 at GCSE. Please note this requirement also applies to mature students (21 or over) without formal qualifications who have been admitted based on their admissions test and/or prior experience. All international students requiring visa sponsorship require an IELTS Academic test. If you are an international student applying for a Student Visa and do not currently have a valid IELTS Academic test, Point Blank will be happy to provide a fee waiver of 185 GBP, to be waived from your fees upon successful registration only. Point Blank will not provide further waivers for resits and the IELTS test booking receipt must be provided as proof of test fee paid. Fee waivers are applicable to tests completed post-application date only.
