Fintech and Finance (Taught)

1 Study option · PostgraduateUniversity of Greenwich (Greenwich Campus)

Course summary

This MSc is a FinTech programme grounded in finance, focusing on cryptoassets, digital platforms and machine learning, aimed at careers across fintech and technology-enabled financial services.

FinTech is no longer an emerging add-on to finance; it is now a distinct technological paradigm shaping how financial services are designed, delivered, and regulated. This programme treats FinTech as a system-level discipline, combining financial theory with cryptoasset technologies and machine learning data-driven financial systems.

Students will critically assess the design, operation, risks, and opportunities of fintech systems, including cryptocurrencies, tokens, digital-only banks, payment infrastructures, and technology-enabled exchanges, seeing how they enhance existing financial systems. Alongside this, you will gain hands-on experience with Python programming, data analytics, and machine-learning techniques used across the global fintech sector.

This programme is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), offering exemptions from up to four ACCA papers. This provides an additional professional pathway for students seeking careers that combine finance, technology, and professional practice.
