Course summary

here are a variety of jobs within the Civil Engineering Industry making it a dynamic career choice, and with businesses in the North East looking for qualified civil engineers, there's never been a better time to study this course. This course will develop you as a professional, self-reflecting individual able to meet the demands of employers in the civil engineering sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The Higher National Certificate (HNC) is recognised by industry, meaning you will leave the course in a great position to go straight into work, or to progress onto a degree in Civil Engineering. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills hands-on, with specialist software and equipment such as BIM (Building Information Modelling) and surveying equipment.

o Science and Materials
o Mathematics for Construction
o Civil Engineering Technology
o Principles of Structural Design
o Surveying, Measuring and Setting out
o Building Information Modelling.

You will also develop an understanding of the various software used within the industry such as BIM as well as learning how to use equipment used within surveying.
