Why Games Art (with placement)?
Our Games Art degree will give you the tools to design stunning characters and immersive worlds for computer games, learning to turn your creative ideas into reality in a thriving commercial industry. You’ll develop a wide range of essential skills including 3D modelling, digital sculpting, interface design, character art and much more. You’ll build invaluable experience and a network of contacts, with the chance to engage with live briefs, game jams, creative exhibitions and trips to conferences in the UK and overseas (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details). Previous students have also undertaken placements at renowned firms such as Neon Play, Sumo Digital, Team 17 and Unity Technologies.

Working individually as well as collaborating with course colleagues and students from our other computer games degrees, you’ll draw on the expertise of lecturers with extensive industry experience working on games for Sony, Adidas, Intel, Crytek, 2K Sports, Rebellion, Eutechnyx and Headstrong Games. You’ll learn in purpose-built labs, equipped with the very latest technology, such as 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Tools, Adobe CC, Unity, Unreal and much more. As a PlayStation First partner, we’re also able to give you access to the same development hardware that game studios use to create ground-breaking games on PlayStation. By then end of your degree, you’ll have developed an impressive portfolio of artwork, playable games and prototypes to launch an exciting and successful career.
