A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where you undertake a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between your second and final years of undergraduate study. You can engage in multiple placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) yourself, with support from the Careers team.

Course Modules

You'll begin by studying core business concepts. You'll also gain foundational skills in design thinking and methods for economic analysis, setting a strong base for your understanding of business operations and analytics. As you build on your knowledge, you'll dive into more advanced analytics. You'll also have the option to explore cutting-edge topics like artificial intelligence and data transformation, helping you develop a well-rounded skill set in both business and technical areas. In the final year, you will focus on applying your skills through in-depth modules in more specialist areas. You'll work on real-world capstone projects, applying your learning to solve practical business challenges. Optional modules will allow you to tailor your studies to your interests.
