In this specialist route through our BSc (Honours) Natural Sciences, accredited by the Society for Natural Sciences and the Royal Society of Biology, you’ll explore life from cells to whole organisms. You also have the option to study areas such as human biology, ecology, or science's role in society, while developing your analytical and scientific literacy skills. Practical work and a research project provide hands-on experience, enabling you to effectively interpret and communicate biological data. This route prepares you for further study or careers in conservation, healthcare, or education, providing a broad yet detailed understanding of living systems and processes.

This natural sciences degree has three stages, each comprising 120 credits.
Stage 1: You’ll study two 60-credit modules, introducing you to many branches of science and exploring the ideas that underpin the study of science at a higher level.
Stage 2: You’ll study two 30-credit modules examining adaptation and natural selection and exploring the world of living cells, plus choose 60 credits of complementary option modules.
Stage 3: You’ll study a 60-credit module exploring advanced biological science topics from evolution to cell and molecular biology, choose a 30-credit option module, and complete your degree with a 30-credit project module.
