The Applied Business Management foundation degree at Coleg Cambria is delivered in collaboration with Swansea University’ School of Management – where you are prepared for real business from day one.
You will engage with employer-led briefs, sharpen finance, marketing, operations and HR skills, while building and developing a portfolio that proves you can deliver. When choosing the FDSc Applied Business Management degree you will study a broad spectrum of business and management topics (such as marketing, operations management, finance, accounting, strategy and human resource management).
Cambria has outstanding connections throughout North Wales, with guest business speakers, presentations and opportunities to network. We are an experienced provider of apprenticeship routes, including for business management. You will study in our HE Business Management Centre in Northrop.
This programme is designed for the student who wants to excel and reach the top level of global business management practice.
You will study 4 modules in year 1 (Finance for Non Finance Managers, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Operations Management 1), and a further 4 in year 2 (Business Management 1, Operations Management 2, Organisational Project 1 and Leadership & International Human Resource Management). Prince2 Foundation is also offered as an optional extra on year 2; this project management qualification is a valuable asset to employers.
Successful completion of all modules in Years 1 and 2 will enable students to achieve a Foundation Degree (the FdSc in Applied Business Management). Completion of the FdSc will allow progression onto the BSc Applied Business Management in Year 3 where you will study 3 modules (Business Management 2, Leadership and Organisational Project 2).
Most modules are assessed through reports and class tests, but projects, bibliographic exercises, reflective diaries, posters, and presentations may also be utilised.
