MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) equips students with the skills and knowledge to engage with the theoretical and practical challenges of teaching English as a foreign or second language. The programme is designed to be inclusive and globally relevant, encouraging students to critically examine diverse teaching methodologies, linguistic diversity, and the social contexts of English language education.
Students develop key graduate attributes, including analytical and research skills, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication, all of which are essential for professional roles in TESOL and applied linguistics. To support different career pathways, students can choose to complete either a dissertation or compile a professional practice portfolio in the second stage of the course.
