Course summary

The Arts Foundation Year at Lincoln provides an alternative integrated entry route onto a wide range of degree-level programmes in the College of Arts. Students on the Arts Foundation Year study common modules that allow students the opportunity to experiment, explore, and develop the core skills and knowledge required to pursue a degree within the creative arts and become increasingly more specialised as the course progresses. The combination of modules has been tailored to the needs of the degree programme that the students wish to progress onto after successful completion of the foundation year. The course has also been designed to support students who know they want to study a creative subject but are unsure of which pathway to take.

    Hi I’m Ellie and I’m a Second Year Pharmacy student. I will be at Lincoln for 3 more years and plan on becoming a pharmacist when I graduate. I did A Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and EPQ and I am very familiar with the clearing process due to my A levels not going as expected so feel free to ask questions around this subject too! Clearing felt very daunting at first when things didn’t go as planned on results day, but the process was actually really easy and ended up finding the university that’s best for me. Everything was so quick and it really helped me to settle into university lifestyle. So yeah, any questions you have about this I’m happy to answer :)

I am currently in the arts and crafts society, 20 minute society, Biochemistry society, video game society, tabletop society and musical society at Lincoln. University has helped me discover sports psychology and performance analysis which is something I would like to look into for the future.     I have just completed my first year as an Accountancy and Finance student at the University of Lincoln. I took a gap year before starting university in which I worked and travelled, whilst deciding what I wanted my future to look like! After university, I want to either train to be an accountant, or a teacher, possibly in maths, business or my degree area. I joined the University of Lincoln's Athletics society in September 2024, which has allowed me to make new friends, and take part in many social and competitive events. I ran my first 10k race in April 2025 with fellow society members! I live at home and commuted to campus during my first year. I either walked, drove or got the bus to university.
